Each summit, top industry leaders host roundtable discussions on the most pertinent issues in healthcare. We also have guest speakers from all walks of life, from design firm leaders to Olympic Gold medalists, talk about their experiences, their realms of expertise, and key lessons they learned during their careers.
Thursday Afternoon
David Bjork: Founder and Executive Director, Healthcare Summit at Jackson Hole
Ford Koles: VP and National Spokesperson, Advisory Board
The health care industry is facing a rough business climate dominated by increasing costs and prices, tightening margins and capital, and staffing upheaval. Leaders in some areas of the industry are navigating an unusually high number of short-term crises, while others are capitalizing upon opportunities that have emerged amidst the chaos. This short presentation will overview the most disruptive forces that leaders in health care should be watching as they plan for 2023 and beyond; it will also provide a framework that conference attendees will use as a start point several of the discussion sessions that follow in the summit agenda.
Amanda Berra: EVP, Union Healthcare Insight
Upheaval is everywhere in healthcare right now—but no leader or organization can focus equally on all problems at once. Let’s discuss the industry issues discussed in the State of the Union keynote with an eye to prioritizing the most consequential challenges. Attendees will have the opportunity to exchange their experiences and viewpoints with fellow summit attendees as to what they think the market’s top strategic challenges are, and why.

Friday Morning
Amanda Berra: EVP, Union Healthcare Insight
This session will rapidly cover the waterfront on the complex, ever-changing world of primary care by switching modes across a presentation, attendee panel, and an audience Q&A discussion. First, the 10-minute presentation will provide a refresher on state of primary care, PCMH to today: Evolving concepts, recent acquisitions, reimbursement changes, and open questions. Next, we will shift gears to a panel of executives whose organizations are approaching primary care transformation from contrasting angles. During the audience Q&A, attendees will have a chance to question the panelists—and vice versa. Panelists will bring their own questions for audience members about their professional experiences and views on the future direction of primary care.
Christopher Kerns: CEO, Union Healthcare Insight
Explore investor views on the volatile health care market by way of a panel representing venture capital, private equity and investment banking. The goal will be to ‘look around the corner’: Given recent busts, especially in digital health, where will that money likely flow now? How do new legislative priorities inform that picture? What do professional investors see on the horizon that other stakeholders might not? What are newly emerging as the best bets in health care, and where will funders be turning away?
Amanda Berra: EVP, Union Healthcare Insight
In our closing discussion, we will revisit the “biggest challenges” themes that dominated presentations and conversations earlier in the agenda—but this time, with a focus on solutions. Attendees will be asked to come up with advice and recommendations on policy changes, emerging business models, and strategies they think hold the most promise for overcoming challenges and navigating through disruptive change.
